3 lives, 3 stories, 1 community

Three young lives full of hope, Ethan, Aubrey, and Raelyn, each on their own health journey, supported by a community that believes in standing together. At Coffeeville, we’ve created a special Drink for a Cause to help unite our efforts and bring relief, support, and encouragement to them and their families during this time. You’ll find this drink available at both our Brookfield and Jackson cafés, crafted as a delicious caramelized lavender latte, served hot or cold, something you can truly enjoy while making a meaningful impact with every purchase. Together, as a community, we have the opportunity to turn small moments into something powerful. At the end of this campaign, all funds raised will be collected and presented through a public check to each of the three families, reflecting the support, care, and unity behind every cup.

Aubrey Schmitz

Aubrey is just turning 5 and is the sweetest, most down to earth little girl you’ll ever meet. She loves her siblings dearly, Trey-7 and Molly-3 months. Aubrey is a big fan of pretty nail polish, M&Ms, dachshund puppies and everything pink. In the summer of 2025, Aubrey started getting daily headaches. Doctors would hardly consider her case because she had no other symptoms. With the help of her pediatrician, a MRI was finally obtained. The day before Aubrey started 4K, we found out the cause of her headaches - a brain tumor. The tumor was found to be inoperable and aggressive. The day after welcoming her baby sister into the world, Aubrey started a 6 week treatment of daily radiation. She finished radiation late 2025 and had great results. She is currently on a daily medication to keep the tumor from growing and is in talks with her team at Children’s Hospital as to what the next course of her treatment will be. Aubrey has been such an amazing little warrior throughout her journey, never losing her spark, and we pray everyday for continued progress.

Ethan Steinke

Ethan is a 7th grader at Slinger Middle School who loves board and card games, spending time with friends, and, like most kids his age, would happily live on electronics if he could. Those closest to him describe him as kind, playful, and thoughtful, someone who has recently come out of his shell, growing more confident, more talkative, and always ready with a joke. Over the past few months, Ethan has shown a level of strength and resilience far beyond his years. How This Began In mid-November 2025, Ethan became very ill over the course of a single weekend. What initially seemed like dehydration or the flu quickly escalated into something much more serious. After multiple emergency visits, doctors discovered a buildup of fluid on his brain caused by a blockage deep in the pineal region. Diagnosis & Treatment Ethan underwent brain surgery to relieve the pressure and restore normal fluid flow. Soon after, through further testing and a biopsy, he was diagnosed with Pure Pineal Germinoma, a rare but highly treatable brain tumor. Since then, Ethan has been in active treatment, including chemotherapy, frequent hospital visits, bloodwork, and ongoing care to manage side effects like fatigue, nausea, and anxiety. Despite the challenges, he continues to show up strong, even surprising his care team by bringing a notebook full of thoughtful questions to better understand his journey. Where He Is Now Ethan still has a few rounds of treatment ahead, followed by several weeks of radiation and continued monitoring. Through it all, he remains incredibly positive, proud, and full of life, finding joy in small moments, games, laughter, and simply being himself. We are deeply grateful for the care he’s receiving and for the moments of light that continue to surround him during this time. Thank you for standing with Ethan and his family.

Raelyn Kleppe

Raelyn is a bright and strong young girl whose smile and spirit light up every room she walks into. She continues to show incredible courage and resilience as she navigates a journey far beyond what most children should ever have to face. How This Began In November 2024, Raelyn’s family began noticing unusual eye movements. Soon after, she developed recurring headaches that would come and go, sometimes making her sick. What initially seemed minor quickly became more concerning. At an eye appointment in December, Raelyn struggled to see even large letters, and doctors noticed her optic nerve appeared pale. They immediately knew something more serious was happening and urged her family to seek urgent care. That same day, Raelyn was taken to Children’s Hospital, where doctors discovered a tumor about the size of a golf ball pressing on her optic nerve pathway. It was also blocking the natural flow of spinal fluid, causing the intense headaches she had been experiencing. Diagnosis & Treatment Raelyn underwent surgery to relieve the pressure and to biopsy the tumor. Due to its location, removing it entirely was too risky, as it could result in permanent vision loss. Instead, she had a shunt placed to help drain fluid and began chemotherapy in January 2025. Since then, Raelyn has gone through multiple surgeries, including port placement and shunt revisions, along with ongoing treatments, hospital visits, and emotional ups and downs. Through it all, she has continued attending school, supported by incredible teachers helping her stay on track. Where She Is Now Raelyn has made remarkable progress. Her tumor has shrunk significantly, and her eyesight has stabilized. While she will continue to live with the tumor and undergo regular monitoring, there is hope and strength in every step forward she takes. She is now finishing her final cycle of chemotherapy and looking ahead to brighter moments, including having her port removed and celebrating with a special Make-A-Wish trip to Hawaii. Raelyn’s journey is one of courage, resilience, and hope. Thank you for standing with her and her family.
